The desert zebra, with its striking black-and-white stripes, has adapted to thrive in some of the harshest environments on Earth. A zebra named "Shani," meaning "adventure" in Swahili, became famous in Namibia’s Etosha National Park for her remarkable migration journey.
Shani’s herd faced a perilous trek across dry salt flats to reach a seasonal waterhole. Along the way, they encountered predators such as lions and hyenas. Shani’s sharp eyesight and quick reflexes helped her detect danger, alerting the herd to move swiftly. One unforgettable moment occurred when Shani stood her ground against a pack of wild dogs, allowing a vulnerable foal to escape unharmed. Her bravery and leadership earned her respect among the herd.
